One month: done!

It's been a long week. But a good one overall. Thus ending my first month! (4th week= month, even though I started on the 6th!)

My most intimidating client was even more intimidating yesterday. Eek! She got a little rough: hit me once, punched the MT (my supervisor) once, hit the keyboard, almost threw the laptop... needless to say I was a little nervous. What is funny is that my supervisor had just told me that there wasn't need to worry about her being rough during the session because that had never happened before. Well...shoulda knocked on wood.

Other than that it was a very good week. It's the end of the month so my supervisor (I'm just gonna give her the name Jill, it's too much to keep writing "my supervisor"...) is revising all of the objectives the clients have met and making new ones. We're also getting ready for...wait for it...Christmas! Since we only see the clients once a week, we only have 9 weeks till our Christmas program, so we gotta get movin! So, I got to help and give input with all of the objective revisions and ideas for the clients part in the program. Jill actually took some of my input and used it to write objectives, that made me feel professional, like my ideas were actually useful! Soon enough I'll be writing them by myself so it's exciting to know that I'm headed in the right direction :)

I usually spend my lunches with my fiance, which I love :) It's been a big change from spending almost all day with him to only getting to see him a couple of hours a day, and sometimes only 30-45 minutes with him. But we're getting used to it and learning to compromise as far as time and schedules. We're also attending a great marriage bible study at church on Wednesdays and I really like it. I'm not sure he's thrilled, but I think deep down he thinks it's beneficial. We're the youngest ones in there, not to mention the only engaged couple. The rest of the couples are married. It's interesting to put things into a "pink" and "blue" perspective. I'm learning that the way men and women talk and act toward each other has a deep-rooted need/desire behind it. The bible study is called Love and Respect by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. Men's deepest need is respect and women's is love. To a man, respect=love. "All we need is love!" - Beatles :-) Anyways, check it out, its a really great study for couples, engaged or married!

This weekend I'm going to watch Courageous. It's made by the same people who did Fireproof and Facing the Giants, two great family movies. I'm also apprehensive about watching these kinds of movies, sometimes christian-family movies can be kinda cheesy...ya know what I mean? I know they have great morals and are MUCH better than what the world is putting out these days. Nevertheless, I'm ready for a relaxing weekend!
